The historic heart of Somerset West is coming back to life with new developments, an exciting retail offering and many local eateries and cafes. 

We invite you to get together with friends and loved ones in the Village to explore, reconnect and support smaller local businesses.

Some of the most notable developments include the revamp of the Forum building and 42 New Road, which attracted sought-after tenants. The Twin Oaks and Tower buildings now boast a collection of specialty shops, eateries, galleries, offices, and co-working spaces and the recently opened Alexandra Place has been transformed into a local shopping and eating hub, complete with an authentic German bakery. 

At its heart, the Somerset West Village Collective is a community effort and will only succeed with the support of everyone who loves Somerset West.

SOMERSET WEST VILLAGE GARDEN

  • Somerset West Village Garden was established in 2015 on a derelict park. Now this thriving, neat, working garden offers work to the unemployed and homeless in exchange for tokens which can be used for food, clothing and assistance.

    The fresh, organic vegetables are sold at the weekly market and donated to the Thomas House of Hope for their feeding scheme.
