The Big 10: Exploring the Somerset West Wine Route
Here in Somerset West, we don’t have to go far for a taste of the good life; our wine farms are stitched into the fabric of our Village. They are where we go for lazy afternoons, big celebrations and a bit of fresh air when the week has been too long. This International Cabernet Sauvignon Day, we are raising a glass to our very own Somerset West Wine Route.
Ten farms, each with their own story and flavour. Some have playgrounds for the little ones, trails for the sporty ones, and water bowls for the four-legged ones – all are worth a visit, whether you are here for the Cab Sav or just the company.
*Top tip if you don’t know where to start: use the Winelands Explore Directory. It is South Africa’s only online directory for every wine farm around the country, with a unique filter system to help you find your perfect wine farm to visit. You can select the area to visit, and then the experiences you want: from child-friendly farms, to those steeped in history, pet-friendly farms, to those that have pairings, picnics or restaurants.
